Jennergy’s Top 5 Favorite Christmas Commercials of 2011 (well, most from 2011)

As everyone knows, the holidays are a time when we are bombarded with more advertisements than we can possibly take in, and for most people it is both exhausting and annoying. If you are a creative person, however, the holiday advertisements are the gifts of people’s ideas for the world to see, and can be a great source of inspiration for us.

We’ve included some of our favorites which are either inspiring, laugh-inducing, or a little of both to get you in the holiday spirit. Enjoy!

1. Target— 2011 Ad Series

These series of commercials for Target proves that if you invent a great character, it’ll last through more than one concept. The artistic direction, choice of actress, use of color and pure energy make this holiday ad a winner. Bravo!

2. Tommy Hilfiger: House Par-Tay

This style icon has always been known to have only the coolest advertisements, and this Christmas commercial is no exception. From the music to the eye candy, this ad makes you want to jump up and dance.

3. Target— Last Minute Santa

Although this commercial aired on a past holiday season, we thought it ranked so high on our great holiday commercial list, we had to post it. They did alter it in 2011, but the first version is just pure classic. Because of the strong conceptual vision of this ad, all that was needed were music and visuals. Done deal.

4. Pampers Peace on Earth

Okay, so who doesn’t love babies? Yeah, we thought so. This veteran commercial gets us every year with it’s quiet, beautiful reminder of how something as simple as a sleeping baby with Silent Night A Cappella can move your audience.

5. John Lewis Christmas Advert 2011

This commercial puts a fabulous twist on a kid that can’t wait for Christmas. It’s enough to make even the most cold-hearted Scrooge melt. Oh yeah, and the Morrissey cover makes it even better.
